What is a chemical peel?
A chemical peel removes the top layer of the epidermis allowing fresh healthier skin to appear and grow.
Why have a chemical peel?
Peels effectively help to reduce acne, uneven pigment, smooth out rough skin and reduce surface lines which is where most wrinkles are found. Peels allow healthier skin to grow leaving your skin glowing and radiant.
Which peels are used at Vida De Sueno Spa?
Vida De Sueno Spa uses light to medium depth peels, depending on the outcome of the assessment of your skin type and condition.
How long does it take?
The treatment takes little time to complete and can even be done during a lunch hour. Mild redness may last up to 24 hours.
When to expect skin peeling?
Skin may begin peeling on day 2 or 3. There may be some flaking. We advise our clients not to pick or pull at the peeling skin. Allow skin to shed off naturally.

Are peels painful?
Peels are not usually painful. You may feel a mild stinging, tingling or burning sensation which is temporary and only lasts for the duration of the treatment.
Prior to your appointment, refrain from tanning for 2-3 weeks. Stop use of Retin-A for 1 week prior your treatment. You should abstain from taking Accutane for six months prior to your treatment.
What to do after your chemical peel?
You will receive a post treatment plan to follow after your chemical peel treatment. You should avoid direct sunlight and tanning after your appointment. Skin care products will be recommended to maximize the benefits of your chemical peel treatment.
